LOCAL QUESTION SALES AND USE TAX Must a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in Jasper County for not more than fifteen years with the revenue of the tax used to pay, directly or indirectly, the cost of the following education capital improvement projects in Jasper County: (i) Construction and equipping of an early learning academy in Hardeeville. (ii) Construction and equipping of an early learning academy in Ridgeland. (iii) Upgrade athletic facilities located at Hardeeville Junior and Senior High School. (iv) Upgrade athletic facilities located at Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence. (v) Construction and equipping of a career and advanced technology education center in Hardeeville. (vi) Construction and equipping of a facility in Ridgeland for educational and auxiliary programs, including alternative programs for grades 6-12, adult education, district offices and storage space; and (vii) Renovation, construction and equipping of the existing Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence. INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS: All qualified electors of the County desiring to vote in favor of imposing the tax for the stated purposes as outlined above shall vote “YES”, and all qualified electors opposed to levying the tax shall vote “NO”.
